Domino Park
In 1882, Domino Sugar opened its first factory bordering the East River in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The factory's opening marked a new beginning for the small Brooklyn community. In 2023, that small community had become much more substantial. The original Domino Sugar factory has been repurposed as a market space, luxury apartment buildings have risen, and a park named after the factory was constructed. The identity for Domino Park calls back to the blue-collar past of the area by using ink trap fonts and combining that with a condensed sans to speak to the new residents. The project aims to bridge these two worlds that once existed in Domino Park and turn them into one cohesive identity.
